So I've been surveying the scene a lot more these days and I realize how many ladies are rocking their natural hair...from locs to fros to twists and twist outs, more and more kinky and kurly girls are stepping out with pride. As a NYC native, I know style is everything, whether you're creating your own or following the trends with what you wear. However, when it comes to hair, especially Black hair, it tends to be the unspoken rule to get it as straight as you can, from perms and touch ups to wash and sets with the Dominican blow outs to gluing and threading it in if need be. The motto seems to be "By any means necessary!!" So it's no surprise that the response is usually "oh my God, I don't know how you do it, I could never" or "oh my God, I would love to go natural, but I'm too scared," when people see you with your naturale going on, both men and women. However, with men it can go both ways, some are drawn to the fullness and boldness of natural hair, others aren't with it at all...How have people responded to your kinks and kurls?
